Use Art to Let Your Inner Child Out

As you age and your responsibilities grow, time for your creative endeavors shrinks, but do not deny yourself of the happiness and fulfillment that come from them. Whether it is painting, writing, reading, creating music, dancing, etc., make sure to fit your love for art into your life on a regular basis. You only have one life to live, and actively pursuing your love for art can spark more joy. You may be thinking to yourself that you just simply do not have the time, but what you really mean is that it is not your priority. I believe that your happiness and fulfillment should be a priority, but you must make a conscious effort to prioritize them. I challenge you to pick up a new (or old) creative endeavor this week and provide yourself the safe space to release your inner child that has been sitting patiently waiting to come out and play.

Here at the Balanced Moms Club, we understand the importance of making yourself a priority. As the founder, I did that myself by writing and publishing my first book, Cactus Fruit, where I use poetry to outline my journey as a daughter of immigrants, wife, mother and friend. Purchase your copy here. Also, keep an eye out for my second book coming soon where I will write about the experiences of immigrant grandmothers in the U.S.
